Snow League New Zealand Through My Lens: How to Photograph Halfpipe and Freeride at Cardrona
The Snow League World Challenge brought Shaun White's halfpipe league to Cardrona, New Zealand, in September 2026. I photographed it independently on a media pass. To shoot halfpipe, I think you need to get low so riders sit against the sky, use 1/1000 or faster with continuous autofocus, add exposure compensation for the snow, and learn each rider's style and trick set before they drop in.

Highlands Motorsport Media Maverick Competition Winner, 2025
I won Highlands Motorsport Park's nationwide search for its next Motorsports Media Maverick, sponsored by Trade Me and run by SpecialPR. The prize was a two-day shoot at the park, photographing and filming models and families on the go-kart tracks for the venue's own marketing.

Charity Golf Tournament
I sponsored this one rather than shot it for a fee: Roost Mortgages' Arrowtown charity tournament, raising money for the Whakatipu High School Foundation and teachers struggling to find housing in Queenstown. I donated a half-day commercial package and a family shoot to the auction, and photographed the day.
