Chris Chase is a commercial photographer and videographer based in Queenstown, New Zealand, working with brands, tourism operators and businesses nationwide. Shoots run as half or full days on location, covering product, brand campaign, team and lifestyle imagery. Most projects are delivered within two weeks, with commercial usage rights for web, print and paid social included.
Whether you’re launching a product, updating your brand visuals, or creating content for a campaign…I produce clean, intentional imagery that connects.

What I Offer
Whether you need a full campaign shoot, a refresh after a rebrand or fit-out, or a content library that lasts the year, every brief starts from the same place:
How do you want to capture the human connection?
Full production shoots built around a campaign brief. Product, people and place — shot to work as a set across your website, social, print and paid advertising. Planned backwards from your channels and deadlines, so you get the crops and formats you actually need rather than a folder you have to crop yourself.
Rebrand & Refresh Shoots
For businesses that have changed something and need the imagery to catch up. A new fit-out, new premises, new branding, a new product line or a new team. One shoot that replaces your whole visual set, so nothing on your website is still showing the old look.
A planned shoot that fills your content calendar for months. Stills, vertical crops and hero images captured in one production and delivered as a structured library — so your marketing team stops rationing the same twelve photos.
Who I Work With
Restaurants, bars, lodges and accommodation needing imagery that sells the room before someone books it.
Fit-outs, installations, product and process. I can capture the entire process from build to completion, and humanise the impact of the project.
Video and imagery where the story matters more than the product. I work hard to make sure the human connection and storytelling shines through in these instances/
Rebrands, remodels, and the everyday imagery a growing business runs out of faster than it expects.
Headshots, team portraits and executive imagery that doesn’t look like stock. Conferences, corporate functions and awards nights are covered on the event photography services page.
Agencies needing a reliable Southern Lakes shooter for client briefs. Someone who works to spec, hits the deadline, and is easy to hand a brief to.
We talk about your brand, the brief, and what you need the images to do. I ask about channels, audience, and timing before we discuss locations or logistics.
I scout locations, plan the shot list, and confirm logistics including permits if required. Weather-contingency planning included for outdoor shoots.
I work efficiently and adapt in real time. Shoots rarely go exactly to plan, and I am aware that most businesses still have to trade while we are capturing content. I’m comfortable working around staff, customers and live operations, indoors or out.
Colour-graded in Lightroom, resized for your specified channels, and delivered via online galleries. Most shoots delivered within 2 weeks post shoot (this is negotiable).
Commercial work is priced by the shoot rather than by the hour. Half-day shoots start from NZD $1,100 and full days from NZD $2,200 with most complete projects landing between $1,000 and $7,500 depending on locations, crew, video and how widely the images will be used. Every project is quoted after a discovery call.
A day rate covers pre-production planning, the shoot itself, light colour grading and editing in Lightroom, resizing for your specified channels, and delivery via an online gallery. Commercial usage rights for web, print and paid social are included. Travel beyond the Queenstown Lakes district, studio hire, talent fees and permits are quoted separately.
You receive a commercial licence to use the images across your own marketing (website, print, social, paid advertising and internal communications) with no expiry. Chris Chase Photography retains copyright and the right to show the work in its own portfolio. Exclusive rights, resale rights and third-party licensing can be arranged at quote stage.
Most commercial shoots are delivered within two weeks of the shoot date. If you need images faster for a launch or a campaign deadline, a selection of edited hero images can be turned around within 1-3 business days. Event and activation coverage is delivered same-day or next-day where the brief requires it.
A half-day shoot typically delivers 15 to 30 fully edited images and a full day 30 to 50, though the number depends on the brief. A product shoot with a fixed shot list delivers fewer, more considered frames than a lifestyle or event shoot. The final count is agreed in the shot list before the shoot. And extra images can always be purchased at $50 per image.
Yes. Chris Chase Photography is based in Queenstown and shoots across the South Island and nationally, including Wanaka, Cromwell, Dunedin, Christchurch and Auckland, as well as projects in the United States. Travel within the Queenstown Lakes district is included; travel further afield is quoted at cost with the brief.
Yes. Most commercial shoots run as combined photo and video days, which is usually more cost-effective than booking them separately. Deliverables have ranged from fifteen-second social cuts to five-minute promotional films. Video can be done by myself or I can sub-contract a trusted videographer within my network.
A discovery call, then a short brief covering what the images need to do, which channels they run on, and any deadlines. From there Chris Chase Photography handles location scouting, the shot list, permits where required, and weather-contingency planning for outdoor shoots. Bringing real staff or customers rather than models makes a noticeable difference, but models can be sourced as well and added to the estimate of costs if needed.
