Tru Women’s Gym Remodel and Rebrand

Tru Women's Gym rebranding photoshoot
Tru Gym, a women's-only gym in Frankton, won my half-day commercial package at the Bayleys Frankton charity golf auction. Owner Carla wanted the finished remodel documented — architectural frames, individual workouts and group scenes across up to 50 images, some destined for Queenstown bus advertising.

Photographing a women's-only space

In February, I gave away a half day commercial photography package as part of an auction at the Bayleys Frankton (Real Estate) Charity Golf Outing, worth $2490 +gst.

The winner of the auction was Tru Gym, a women’s only gym based in Frankton.

Carla, who owns the gym, was keen to highlight a brand new and recently finished remodel of their gym space, and take some of those photos to print on the back of the local Queenstown public buses to advertise the space.

We spent four hours working on architectural shots, and working with various models to highlight the energy and the vibe of the gym.

We captured a variety of scenes, anything from individual workout shots, to group scenes in the new studio and out on the gym floor.  In total, I delivered 50 images, and these images became a huge function of the rebrand, being used for marketing collateral, website material, and into print as well.

It was a great shoot that really helped lighten up the mood of their marketing.  The gym attracts all sorts of demographics of women, so it was important to Carla that we captured a positive and welcoming vibe.
