We will spend 7 to 8 hours (or more) out in the field together with your guide staff practising in depth photography skills. The goal for the full day session is to simulate what it is like for your guides to run a full day tour, while having to think about when and where the best chances for content pop up during your tour.
We will work through each location or scenario to find the best backdrops, angles, compositions, practise how to pose large groups, how to determine a good photo from bad, and how to make sure all of your content is saved and downloaded securely as your move through the tour. Hi, I’m Chris Chase — a commercial adventure photographer, filmmaker, educator, and creative consultant based in Queenstown, New Zealand.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked in all sorts of roles within tourism organisations across the US and NZ. I have been a hiking and mountain biking guide, a snowboarding instructor and I’ve worked with tourism operators across NZ create content for all sorts of HERO marketing campaigns.
From multi-day hikes on Te Araroa to mountain bike journeys in the Coromandel, dolphin swimming in Kaikoura, to winter mountaineering on Mt. Ruapehu, I’ve seen firsthand how the best photos often come from the people already out there every day: your staff.
These workshops were built to give your team the confidence, tools, and systems to turn great moments into even better content.
-Chris
